Step 2: Remove the old Pro Gateway
- Disconnect the PRO Gateway from the Connector Harness by sliding down the connector blue colored locking tab and pulling the plug down.
- Using the 36-inch-long wire and while wearing gloves, place the wire along the top back edge of the FleetPulse device, and saw cut the wire through adhesive backing tape – top to bottom – until the device is fully clear of the trailer front wall.
-
Remove the remaining adhesive tape from the trailer front wall using the plastic edge putty knife and spray bottle solution of alcohol/water.
- Clean off all tape completely and dry the surface prior to installing the new device.
-
Install the new PRO Gateway by removing the backside adhesive film and firmly applying pressure to the device and trailer front wall for 30 seconds.
- Ensure the new device is mounted vertically, parallel with the trailer wall roadside corner, with the plug facing the ground.
- Clean the Connector Harness plug of any dust or corrosion and apply a small dot-sized amount of dielectric grease on the plug and spread to all pins.
- Reattach the Connector Harness to the new PRO Gateway, ensuring a straight insertion to not damage gateway pins, then slide the blue locking tab up to the locked position.

IMPORTANT NOTE
-
Before the device can transmit updates to the platform:
- It must be connected to at least 13V to power it on.
- It must establish a GPS fix and connect to a cellular network.
- Signal acquisition is highly dependent on the device’s location and the strength of GPS and cellular signals in the area.
- If any sensors do not report, inspect the cabling and device for damage.
- Contact support@fleetpulse.com if you have further questions.
STEP 4: POWER UP THE TRAILER & GATEWAY
-
Power up the gateway by connecting tractor engine- on (alternator) power to 7-way trailer nose box.
- Center blue pin (Aux.) power must be 12V or above.
- Using a mobile 7-way powering unit is acceptable in powering up the trailer nose box. Ensure Aux. voltage is above 12V.
-
Visually inspect the LED sequence on the gateway.
- Red light will blink or go solid depending on state of the backup battery.
- Yellow, Green, and Blue lights should blink then go solid.
- If all lighting tests pass, the device has been replaced, connected, and reporting to the FleetPulse platform.
NOTE: Trailer needs to be parked outside / close to a bay door, near good cellular and GPS connectivity.
