IMPORTANT NOTE

  1. Before the device can transmit updates to the platform:
    1. It must establish a GPS fix and connect to a cellular network.
    2. Signal acquisition is highly dependent on the device’s location and the strength of GPS and cellular signals in the area.
    3. If your device does not report immediately, do not panic.
    4. If the status LEDs do not illuminate when the button is pressed:
    5. The internal battery may be dead.

5. Device Activation

NOTE: Device activation is best performed with the device outside under open sky for fast location fix and reduced platform check-in time.

  1. Press & hold the Push Button until the LED Status Light begins to flash Green.
    1. TIP: Count to 5 when LED starts to flash.
  2. When the LED Status light is solid Green, release the button.
    1. Green signifies both GPS and Cellular have connected successfully.
  3. The LED will flash Blue as it connects to the cellular network for the first time.
  4. The LED will then flash Orange as it acquires GPS fix.
  5. The LED will then flash Blue as it connects to the cellular network.
  6. The Track device will enter TRIP mode and display LED color according to condition:

Solid Green

LTE and GPS both successful

Solid Blue

LTE only successful

Solid Red

LTE failure

 Additional Tips

  • If the button is not held the LED will flash Green, then White and will not exit ‘SHIP’ mode.
  • GPS fix may be affected by surrounding buildings, covered/underground parking structures, trees, geography, or may be installed in a position that degrades or blocks GPS signal reception.
  • Check LTE reception in the area and reposition device if surrounded by metal and perform commissioning process again

6. Device Maintenance

FleetPulse recommends performing the following maintenance actions at least once every 12 months:

  1. Data quality check:
    1. All Sensors should be reporting as expected in the FleetPulse platform.
